Villa Chigi

In Terminillo, a famous mountain station also known as “the mountain of Rome”, there is a residence known to many, once the home of a prince and now available for a recovery worthy of its history and architecture. The villa, close to the stylistic features of Italian rationalism, was built with a hybrid load-bearing structure of reinforced concrete and masonry, the latter in local stone with horizontal bricks; inside, wooden floors were used in the reception rooms and concrete tiles in the service areas; the floors and the reinforced concrete roof, on the other hand, had a cork false ceiling. The building has two floors, with a terrace roof. Great importance is attributed to the external arcades and the whole is characterized by a planimetric development according to an arc of circumference. The convex volume follows the course of the hill behind it. The internal organization is with main rooms located in the center of the plant and the service areas in the back. The 3 levels on which the villa is developed differ from each other for the function they perform. In the basement the service areas with garage, cellar, boiler room, accommodation for service personnel, and more; on the ground floor with the main entrance, the living room (double height), the dining room, the kitchen (with pantry and more). Note the presence of a covered terrace outside the dining room. On the first floor, accessible from both the main staircase and the staircase in the living room, there are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a study and 2 loggias overlooking the living room. Also on this floor, in the south-west corner, there is a loggia from which you have a panoramic view that goes from Rome to the mountains of Tuscany.
